Covid-19

The world is in the midst of a COVID-19 pandemic. As WHO and partners work together on the response -- tracking the pandemic, advising on critical interventions, distributing vital medical supplies to those in need--- they are racing to develop and deploy safe and effective vaccines.

We, at Macretina Hospital, as an Allopathic institute have a lot of trust in vaccines.Vaccines save millions of lives each year. Vaccines work by training and preparing the body’s natural defences – the immune system – to recognize and fight off the viruses and bacteria they target. After vaccination, if the body is later exposed to those disease-causing germs, the body is immediately ready to destroy them, preventing illness.

As of 18 February 2021, at least seven different vaccines across three platforms have been rolled out in countries. Vulnerable populations in all countries are the highest priority for vaccination.

Macretina Eye hospital, gynec clinic and Covid-19 vaccination centre at Indore is proud to be part of world`s largest vaccine drive. We are vaccinating the population as guided by the Government of India. Macretina Hospital has been provided Covishield vaccine by the Government of India. As part of its latest guidelines, the Centre has directed all states and Union territories to administer the second dose of the vaccine after 4-8 weeks of giving the first dose. Earlier, the time gap was 4-6 weeks.

"In view of the emerging scientific evidence, the interval between two doses of a specific COVID-19 vaccine i e. COVISHIELD, has been revisited by National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (NTAGI) and subsequently by NEGVAC in its 20th meeting during which the recommendation has been revised to provide 2nd dose of COVISHIELD at 4-8 weeks' interval after 1st dose instead of earlier practiced interval of 4-6 weeks, the Union health ministry said on Monday 22nd of march 2021.

From 1st April 2021 whole population of India above 45 yrs will be eligible for vaccination at Macretina Hospital. We have also launched a Macretina Covid-19 vaccination hotline (line open from morning 9:00 AM to evening 8:00 PM) 07314998886.
